Those events got me thinking about the history of D&B as Black music, and the legacy of so many Black artists, producers, MCs and singers who have built, touched and energised this music. With that in mind, I put together a mix where every track is by or features Black artists. It's not designed to be comprehensive or complete, since that would be impossible anyway, nor is it designed to be "the best" or "most influential" music produced by Black artists in D&B; it's a snapshot of the musicians and tracks that have spoken to me over the years, ranging across decades, countries, styles and labels. It's my love letter to this music, and an acknowledgement of the intrinsic link between D&B and Black Culture. I hope you enjoy listening to it."
