For the fifth episode of the Low_End Cast, we are proud to present The Untouchables.
Known as Dj Kay & Dj Nitrox, the outfit started making noise around the turn of the millennium.
The Untouchables’ sound is bass-heavy, tech-influenced, avant-garde and at the same time influenced by oldskool.
Kay’s ability to blend heavy bass-lines and percussion is unparalleled.
The oldskool influences of yesteryear are key to her approach to drum and bass.
Nitrox is the co-founder of the original Universal Project.
He has released tracks as U.P (and with Keaton) on established labels such as Renegade Hardware, Freak Recordings, Quarantine, Virus, True Playaz and Advance to name a few.
The outfit has an impressive catalogue of releases on genre defining labels such as Samurai Music, Rupture, Cylon, Renegade Hardware, 457, Transaltion, Alphacut and Mutable Beats.
Behind the decks, The Untouchables are a force to be reckoned with. They always deliver a heavyweight selection of sounds that come from the deeper, tribal dub side of the bass universe.
That’s what this dubplate-heavy mix is all about, featuring mostly their beats with killer additions from Homemade Weapons, ReSound, Mantra and Presha.
