Mikey is a DJ from Tarndanyangga (Adelaide AU) and has been a part of the city’s drum and bass scene for over a decade. He grew up on hip hop before discovering drum and bass at 17, and it hit him hard. Within three months he’d saved for a pair of Technics 1200s and a Pioneer DJM-600 and was mixing seriously. Years of digging through vinyl, late nights in the city, and constant practice built him a reputation as one of Adelaide’s most reliable and respected DJs.
In 2009 he won the Inbound DJ Competition, cementing his place as OG Adelaide drum and bass royalty. Since then he’s shared decks with the scene’s biggest names: Klute, Pendulum, Andy C, The Upbeats, Ant TC1, Enei, Logistics, London Elektricity, Sabre, Kasra, Shimon, Concord Dawn, Calyx & Teebee, Friction, S.P.Y, Camo & Crooked, High Contrast, Spectrasoul, Cern, DC Breaks, Cyantific, Goldie, Emperor, Ivy Lab, Foreign Concept, TC, Dose, Seba, Fred V, Technimatic, Matrix & Futurebound, InsideInfo, Dub Phizix, Rockwell, IMANU, Whiney, Tali, Ed Rush & Optical, Roni Size, Break, Etherwood, Marcus Intalex, and many more.
He’s also run and promoted shows through his Mikey & Friends nights, bringing acts like Commix, Alix Perez, Dillinja, and the Critical Sounds crew to Adelaide.
Mikey’s approach has always been the same: mix clean, choose the right tracks, and respect the music. That consistency, skill, and dedication are why he’s remained a cornerstone of Adelaide drum and bass for years.
