SUNANDBASS First Timers
This is the first year since 2003 without visiting Sardinia and lining up friends, artists, locals and drum & bass fans from all over the world. When our „Beyond Beaches“ concept didn’t take off I thought ok – then it will be a year to step back and observe. As September was approaching it started to itch again, I needed to line something up. We always planned to release some older live recordings. For this special occasion I thought a theme of „first timers“ would be fitting, showcasing the first set a DJ ever played at sunandbass. It reflects the „first time“ in many, many years we can’t all meet in our beloved San Teodoro to celebrate friendship and life with good food, beautiful beaches and our favorite soundtrack. The plan is to release a series of sets starting from tomorrow and take you through a journey of unforgettable moments throughout the history of SUNANDBASS.
For this first release I picked Bryan G with Stamina MC, Deeizm and MC Lowqui. I remember Utah Jazz calling me the day of his arrival from Milan airport, where they had a stop-over. He passed the phone to Bryan who was worried he could only play for an hour. „I just want to play music!“ – and gee he did, he totally smashed the place in true Bryan „Dubplate“ G style! I believe some of the tunes he played 12 years ago are yet to be released and some probably never will. Check Stamina’s reaction at some of those drops – and how the MCs were vibing throughout the set. You can feel the energy of the Gazebo coming through your speakers, it was an awesome night.
