Terrence & Phillip + Haribo – Underground Sounds [FREE DOWNLOAD]

https://ift.tt/2SUCSHD

After we invited Harry Haribo down to host our set and meeting him in Bristol last year, it was only natural that we get in the studio together to write some music.

‘Underground Sounds’ is a gritty bass driven track that really makes a statement! It showcases exactly where we’re both at as individual artists and it was a pleasure to finally get something down.

As usual this ones up for Free Download & will be available for purchase on T&P Music via all major online stores on the 29th of March.

Terrence & Phillip + R3DX – Ghetto Bass [FREE DOWNLOAD]

Hello! Merry Christmas!
We just finished up some new music 🙂 This time we linked with jump up producer R3DX and created bit of wonky business.
‘Ghetto Bass’ is an infused jump up / roller track and is a great representation of both of our sounds.

The new age rolling jump up sound is massive within the industry at the moment and it was great to be able to link up with Evan to create this bit of music!

Loxy – Live @ Loaded Dice – Perth, 1999

I dug out this 1999 set from Loxy, the first time I had seen him in my hometown of Perth, Western Australia. A great gig at a small, packed club. I remember this for the first time I heard the BC remix of Champion Sound, which brought the house down. But there are loads more cool tunes from 1999 in here.

Wish I had part 2, as he played a 2 hour set, but that’s ok. Enjoy.

Aphrodite – Live At The Drumclub Oct 02

Writeup from Hutchos Rave Pages :

-== Aphrodite : [Fri 18th Oct 02] ==-

DJ’s :- Merlin (10-11:30pm), Gusto (11-30-1am), MC Fearless DJ/MC set (UK 1-2am), DJ Aphrodite (UK 2-4am), El Hornet (4-Close).
MC’s :- MC Fearless (UK), Assassin, X-Sessiv.
Presented by Drum Club and Urban Takeover – the 2002 ‘Aftershock Tour’ featuring Aphrodite + MC Fearless from the UK. The main Drum’n’Bass event of October is of course Urban Takeover head honcho Dj Aphrodite who touches down at the Drum alongside MC Fearless. Aphrodite needs no introduction and is sure to play a set of full on party tunes just as he did in December 2000 at Delirious Summer Festival. “He’s one of the most sought after D’n’B DJs in history…all over England and the world. A prolific producer, he returns to Oz after a 2yr absence with a bagfull of the latest dubplates. ‘Aftershock’ his new CD release on V2 records has been described as being ‘armed with wrecking ball basslines, machine gun snare rolls, razor sharp hooks and funk tipped missiles. His is a sonic arsenal capable of creating an international incident’. Expect some surprises.

MC Fearless has been at the forefront of the MC’ing world and appeared on the legendary AWOL CD’s. He will also be gracing the decks as well at this party for the first time in Australia. He has been a keen DJ for some time and is ready to show us his skills on and off tha mic”.

Venue : Drum Club, 105 Francis St Northbridge 9pm-late. An 18+ event.
Tickets : $30+bf (non members), $25 (members) from Central Station, Drum Club, Planet Video, Mills Records…more on the door.

MC Fearless played a DJ set of some really different tunes I’d not heard before and never heard again afterwards. Loads of it had multiple other MC’s vocals on it, and he was MC’ing along to them. At one point he dropped a tune and said on the mic ‘Who wants a rewind? ME!!’ and pulled the tune back. He dropped a dubplate down a gap at the back of the stage and we never found it. It might lie in the foundations of the high rise apartment block that sits on the space the club was once at.

Aphrodite also played a decent set with a surprising amount of tech tunes from DSCI4 and other similar labels of that time. He also drops an insanely bad bootleg he made of ‘Twist Em Out’ by Dillinja and his own version of the DJ Marky remix of Sunshine Andersons ‘Heart It Before’. He was into making his own version of big tunes back then. I was not a fan!

Apart from that, a great night at The Drum.

Ray Keith – Drum Club – March 2001

First time in Perth for Ray Keith! 2001 and the Dread Recordings head honcho finally touched down in Perth. The Drum Club had a legal capacity around 400….there was apparently 800 in there. One of those incredible nights at The Drum.

DJ’s :- Ray Keith (UK), Greg Packer, Frantik, El Hornet vs Elle Rollo, Viper, Mystique vs Muller.
MC’s :- J.Rippa, Ruffcut, Interjecta.

Dj Grooverider – Gravity – Perth 08/08/96

This set has been passed around amongst Perth dnb heads for 20 years.
Grooverider alongside MC Chalis, August 1996.
An absolutely packed house on a Thursday night with Rider delivering some of the meanest angriest techstep sounds of the period. It’s quite remarkable to think of the difference between the darkness of this set versus the jumpup/ragga vibes that so many people were playing in 1996.
This was classic Grooverider, a window into the future of drum and bass with not so much of a hint of the amen based jungle records that were so dominant just a few months earlier.
Check that Dillinja remix of 808 States ‘Azura’ 2nd tune in. Brutal.

Friction And Stamina MC – Drumclub Perth – Dec 2002

Frictions first visit to Australia way back in 2002. A double headed night with the EZ Rollers also playing alongside MC Jakes. Friction was accompanied by Stamina MC and a great bag of dubs they destroyed The Drum Club. Enjoy.

== Friction / Stamina MC / E-Z Rollers / MC Jakes : [Fri 6th Dec 02] ==-

DJ’s :- E-Z Rollers (UK), DJ Friction (UK) & MC Stamina, El Hornet, Merlin, Gusto.
MC’s :- Interjecta, X-sessiv.

EZ Rollers MC Jakes – Drum Club Perth – Dec 2002 – Part 2

Double bill with EZ Rollers / MC Jakes alongside DJ Friction and Stamina MC.
First time for the EZ Rollers in Perth. They flew in from London (20+ hours), played til 3am then flew to Adelaide at 6am for a show the next day. Rather amazing performance considering.
Kelly ‘Lady Roller’ alongside MC Jakes on the mic with JMJ on the decks.
Local support from El Hornet, Merlin, Gusto. MC’s :- Interjecta, X-sessiv.

Skynet – Drumclub – 2nd Aug 2002

Dj Skynet from the then duo known as Stakka and Skynet touched down in Perth way back in August 2002. This was their first scheduled performance in Australia, and it was a surprise when only Skynet arrived. Citing an illness as the reason for not travelling, it later became apparent that the duo were no more and they would be continuing on as solo artists.
Initially we were mortified at this news as Perth had waited so long to welcome them to our shores.
Within 10 seconds of the drop of Skynet’s first tune, that was all forgotten. This was an incredible night for the tech heads.

-== Stakka + Skynet : [Fri 2nd Aug 02] ==-

DJ’s :- Skynet (UK), Muller vs Rufkut, Viper, Greg Packer, Frantik vs Mk1.
MC’s :- Rufkut, Assassin, X-Sessiv.

Skynet – Drumclub Perth – 9th May 2003

Skynet returned to Perth less than a year after his first visit. This set was recorded in May, 2003.
A whole lot of solo material from him features in this set. I know there is countless tunes here that didn’t come out.

DJ’s :- Concord Dawn (NZ), Pendulum DJs (Elhornet vs Anscenic vs Speed), AJM, Uisce.
MC’s :- Interjecta, X-Sessiv.

Concord Dawn – fHz Perth – 2nd May 2003

This was recorded at fHz, shortly after the Drumclub closed and was renamed. Evan Killjoy from Concord Dawn hit Perth and delivered a set of the newest dnb around at that time. This was their second visit to Perth.

-== Concord Dawn : [Fri 2nd May 03] ==-

DJ’s :- Concord Dawn (NZ), Pendulum DJs (Elhornet, Anscenic, Speed), Frantik, Uisce.
MC’s :- Interjecta, X-Sessiv.

Bailey – The Globe Perth – 10th Aug 2002

No stranger to playing in Perth, Dj Bailey dropped this set alongside MC Tali in August 2002. I believe this was his 4th visit. There is no mic recording sadly so you don’t get Tali.
Support was from Dj Mosus who is now known as Need For Mirrors.
A great night!

-== Bailey : [Sat 10th Aug 02] ==-

DJ’s :- DJ Bailey (UK), Mosus (NZ), Greg Packer, Dan Lucas, El Hornet, Muller, Concept.

Muller + El Hornet – Precision Reunion – Hyde Park Hotel Perth 2012

Precision was a Drum and Bass weekly that ran at Perth’s Hyde Park Hotel on Tuesday nights. It was where the scene would congregate every week and where a lot of local DJ’s cut their teeth and learnt how to play.
Originally run by Dave Cutbush, it was hugely popular amongst nightclub industry staff and Perth’s Drum and Bass lovers.
Cutbush handed the reigns over to Dj Krank and it wound up in the early part of 2003. At that stage Perth had a Drum and Bass night on pretty much every night of the week and Precision had run its course.

In 2012 a reunion was organised to celebrate the years we spent there. This is a recording of El Hornet and Muller back to back, playing a set of some of the music they played at the original night. Perhaps a little heavier than they would have gone back at the original Tuesday, but some great tunes all the same.
All vinyl mix, enjoy.
