Rotations Guestmix 001 – Visages

We are very pleased to welcome men-of-the-moment Visages in kicking off our mix series with episode 001.

In keeping with our focus on artists leading the next generation, Visages proved to be an obvious choice with their slick and forward-thinking productions. Ak:Hash, Midn8Runner, Dask and Euk combine to form this D&B supergroup, already taking the scene by storm with releases forthcoming on 1985, Critical and Guidance.

You can catch them at Outlook Festival for the Flexout boat party and in September they take their clinical sound back to their hometown (Toulouse) with Dillinja & Total Science, with a further UK appearance in London come October.

As the first guests with Rotations, they’ve compiled a silky smooth and tech-infused mix showcasing the breadth of their collective palettes. They’re confidently flying the flag for the new breed of drum & bass producers and we couldn’t be happier to introduce our mix series with them.

V.I.V.E.K – Outlook Mix Series 2019

A student of eminent systems such as Aba Shanti and Jah Shaka, V.I.V.E.K has been immersed in sound system culture since his earliest musical footsteps.

Craftsmanship, unity and culture are the three strongest frequencies that resonate through every role V.I.V.E.K plays in UK bass music and contemporary dub culture: Artist, label owner, deep-drawing world-touring selector and the man behind one of London’s most important dances, SYSTEM.

V.I.V.E.K’S craftsmanship is something you’ll notice through this offering for our 2019 mix series.

You’ll feel it before you hear it; join us for SYSTEM in the Moat at Outlook 2019 – the final fort.

DJINN – Outlook Mix Series 2019

Paying tribute to the might amen break in all its glorious forms, Manchester DJ & producer Djinn has been a regular player on the UK underground scene since 2004, not to mention regular appearances at Outlook over the years.

Djinn’s evolving style spans a 15 year journey in breakbeats; exploring it all from dnb to 90’s jungle & oldskool hardcore, early dubstep & sparse 140, before reaching a current-day heavyweight precision of brooding minimal drum & bass, deep rolling beats – all dark, all menacing.

We welcome Djinn to our 2019 series as we edge closer to the final edition at the fort this summer. It’s mixes like these that really get us excited for what’s in-store in Croatia! Make sure you’re with us > final tickets available from our website.

Commodo – Outlook Mix Series 2019

We’re honoured to welcome one of the scene’s most celebrated and diverse producers and DJ’s to our mix series; Commodo. This one’s been a long time coming and the wait was totally worth it…

With regular appearances at the festival over all these years – 2019 is no different. For the final edition at the fort, you’ll catch Commodo doing what he does best; shelling hard with an arsenal of fresh selections and dub plates.

Enjoy (we know you will).

EGOLESS – Live at Outlook 2018 (Deep Medi on the Beach)

In 2018, for the first time ever, Deep Medi joined us on the beach for an epic day-time takeover with an all-family affair. Sun shine and bass lines were aplenty with the crowd skanking away to the heavy sounds powering from the system.

It was a special moment when Croatian native Egoless stepped up with one of his infamous live performances, filling the beach with his mammoth, dubbed out creations, echoes, reverb and delays…

Egoless is back for the final edition alongside the Deep Medi family for a celebration that is guaranteed to be bigger, badder, and bassier than ever before as we sign-out from Pula.

Hatcha – Outlook Mix Series 2019

Hatcha has played an important role in sound system culture in the support of its rising and established talent, promoters, clubs, fans and extended networks. The same can be said of his support for Outlook Festival. As one of the longest-standing DJ’s joining us at the festival each year, we were never going to celebrate the final edition at the fort without one of the family…

In-keeping with tradition, he’s supplied another faultless example of the heavyweight sounds that have become synonymous with his DJ sets and parties alike. We can guarantee he’ll be on top form for the final edition on land and sea – make sure you’re with us.

Cosmic Bridge Podcast series continues with a very special journey from TMSV

EARTHBASE01 – TMSV – Ego Death – OUT NOW on 12″ Vinyl / Stream / Download

Here’s TMSV with some info

“This studio mix is a combination of stuff I’d play in a DJ set at home in the past 10 years, major influences on my production, music by friends, all-time favourites and tunes I felt like including because they fit the vibe of the mix.

Most of these tunes are somewhere in between the music I play out and the stuff I listen to at home. I rarely take the time to go through all of those tunes that I really love, but that I only ever play in the context of a home or house party DJ set. Every track in this mix is special to me in one way or another. Some of them made me get into certain genres, some remind me of the house parties we used to throw years ago, others are just really fun to mix and one or two tracks are just personally important to me. All of them have some influence on the way I make, play and appreciate music.

It starts out with reggae, then goes into dubstep, that halftime stuff that doesn’t have a name, drum & bass, techno, house and UK Garage before going into some more dubstep, with some surprises thrown in here and there.

This was originally supposed to be a much bigger project, spanning all of my musical influences, but that would’ve taken a crazy amount of time (hip hop alone would’ve taken days if not weeks!). Things I would’ve included if I had unlimited time: 80s, 90s and 2000s dancehall, more roots reggae, jungle, lots of hip hop, more drum & bass, more ambient, more dubstep, more techno, more everything. Maybe someday. ”
