Precision was a drum and bass weekly night in Perth, Western Australia at The Hyde Park Hotel – a venue instrumental in most underground scenes in Perth from hiphop to punk rock to dnb. It was hugely important night through the 5 years it ran as it was the place most Perth dj’s cut their teeth and gained experience playing out. It was where you’d flex that weeks promos, where you’d hear the newest cuts each week with the odd classic thrown in to boot. Precision ran from around 1997 to 2002. It was low key, low hype, no mc’s, no cd’s and a whole lot of great music.

Late in 2011, myself and the original promoter of this night Dave Cutbush conspired to do a reunion night for Precision, scheduled for the 17th of January. The Hyde Park Hotel may have undergone some changes but it was great to play there again alongside some of the DJ’s and punters that made the original weekly a special thing indeed.

This set features myself and long time Perth friend Dj Muller doing a back to back set of the tunes we played at this night back in the day, all from vinyl.
For authenticity we also consumed a revolting amount of the revolting (free) beer we drank way back then – Tooheys Old Ale with a dash of lime cordial. Follow http://www.twitter.com/mulleraus

The sound gets a little funky in places – no apologies. We were getting loose.
