Stranjah-Exclusive mix-Episode 295-The Everyday Junglist Podcast

Hello all and welcome to Episode 295 of The Everyday Junglist Podcast with Jawa and Emplate!!

Thank you Andrezz for your mix for episode 294!!

This week we travel from Brazil to a country up north, Canada! Emplate and I are proud to announce that we are featuring a mix from Stranjah for this episode, a producer who has been featuring on the biggest and best labels in dnb as you will see in his bio below!

Stranjah’s mix starts out with dubby, heavy bass steppers, bounces in to some footwork influenced dnb, flows into some deadly rollers, then eases into some nasty amens, Stranjah caps the mix off with dark and smooth rollers!!! This mix explores the dnb spectrum to perfection!

I am a big fan of Stranjah and his tracks, some that I’m really feeling are: No Remorse, Reign Supreme, The Boy, Amen Fury, and Freq U!! These are all available for purchase, so, GET THEM!!smiley

I’ve lauded the mix and some of the tracks I’m feeling from Stranjah. Let’s get an introduction to this great dj/producer:

One of the early ambassadors of drum and bass in North America, Stranjah has earned legendary status with seminal releases on Metalheadz, 31 Records, Renegade Hardware and Hospital Records. His sound initially caught the attention of L Double at Flex Records in 1999, which later snowballed into his high-profiling releases. Stranjah’s sound is incredibly eclectic and essentially impossible to label under one umbrella. Often dark and minimal by nature, it boasts moody, atmospheric overtones with an emphasis on brooding sub bass and pulsating drum patterns. Constantly evolving his sound utilizing varying tempos and incorporating a wide array of musical influences, Stranjah has enjoyed a longevity within a Drum & Bass scene that is constantly shifting onto the next big thing. With recent firing releases on Jungle Syndicate, Technique and Hospital as well as support from Noisia and Critical Music, Stranjah continues to be a force to be reckoned with in the drum and bass scene.
